Segway Richmond

I did something super cool in the city yesterday! I went on a Segway tour of city landmarks! It was so super cool, after i got used to riding that thing!

my noble steed!
some building that looks like a castle! I still wasn't super comfortable on the segway, so i wasn't really listening.

John Marshall house.

Here i am on this cool piece of technology! I could sort of dance with it at the end of the day...my guide was not ammused! Nor was she please with all of my picture taking!

Looking down Broad Street
Old city hall

This is such a gorgeous architectural structure in this fair city!

Statue in the middle of capital square

Capital building

Errr, i can't remember what this was. pretty flowers though.

This would be the US court of Appeals

Me on the James. This is down on Brown's Island across from TIW.
So cool that the river has rapids...this will be my next adventure in the city!

Great view of the city

Can't wait for that rapids trip!

Abe statue at TIW.

This was such a fun adventure! I highly recommend it to anyone living in Richmond, or planning to come for a visit. I want to do the tour of hollywood cemetery next, after my rapids excursion of course!!!!!!

Richmond Zoo

Richmond has a Zoo! Who knew? Well, it should actually be called the Amelia Zoo becuase i think we were nearly there...or at least closer to there than Richmond. At any rate we had a great day seeing all the cool animals!

Prairie dogs are the cutest darn rodent-like things!

These monkeys were so LOUD! Not sure what the ruckus was all about!

The giraffe's are the main draw at the RZ...You can pay $2 at the gate for a cup of giraffe food to feed them.

This was a very disturbing experiece for me. It's making me shudder just to think about it again! bbbbllllaaaaaahhhhhh!

Necessary! I used mine that i brought along too just for good measure!

Charlie was not so sure about them! That's why mommy, now scarred for life, fed them.

They are, however, beautiful animals!

Pretty bird!

It almost looks like we are at Maymont here, but these are Amelia, ahem, RZ goats.

Female peacock and her babies!

HUGE elk!

Penguins make me smile!

These have to be the prettiest vultures i have ever seen!

Penguins: "quit your yapping lady and give us our lunch!"

My handsome fella on our safari train ride!

This gazelle is only 5 months old and has only been at the zoo for two weeks!

turtle on a log!

"I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware!"

He was in pre-meltdown mode, so i didn't force the issue of a non-silly pic! He insisted on wearing those black sock...kind of looks like a senior citizen from Florida!

Yeah, i needed the 50 cents for the tolls home, so he just got to sit in it!

New York City

I had the priviledge of going to New York City for a friend from high school's wedding this past weekend! It was an awesome weekend catching up with some of my oldest and dearest friends! We had a blast!

Four of us, Lauren S., Katy, Katy's fiance Bryan, and me all shared a room at the W Hotel in Times Square. It was super swanky!
This is the view from the room looking down towards Times Square.

The view of the Hudson River.

"Confidence. Pass it on."

Katy and I after just after my arrival. An adult beverage was on order!

The blushing bride Lauren M., in blue, had all of the out-of-town guests come to she and Antoine's new home in the Chelsea area of the city. They gave us an awesome welcome to New York City with a rooftop cookout...Felt very Sex in the Cityish!

Sarah Lyn drove in from Boston with her beautiful three-month-old baby boy! I had not seen her in nearly three years! Too LONG! She's been my rock for so many years!

The rooftop had gorgeous flowers and was so nicely landscaped! Can you spot the bumblebee in the pic below?

Check out this view of the city!

Bolles girls together again!

Carol now lives in Utah with her high school sweetheart Chad!

I'm pleased to say that i did have a New York City adress for a summer...sure i was only there two days out of the week, but still...

Two BEAUTIFUL Laurens!

The bride, wearing something blue a day early!

Precious friend!

Here we go...I am getting our night on the town started the best way i know how...with a bombay dirty! Three olives please!

Katy, with the poor sap who had to share a room with three girls for a weekend!

A group photo would not be complete without our signature "kissy face one." We didn't do the "leg one."

Super cool place!

We caught a ride in the hotel's Acura MDX to Greenwich Village to eat at Sushi Samba...that's just fun to say! Rockin' food, but best yet, the company!

Gettin' silly!

This pic of Lauren could totally be an ad for the W!

Another Bolles girl, and long time friend, Beth, met up with us in the Village at SS, then traipsed us around the city!

Triple trouble, all in black, ready for the wedding to start!

Reception time! These were some of the most breathtaking arrangements i have ever seen!

Everything was PERFECT for Lauren's BIG day!

Another Bolles girl, Lydia, she is a model in LA, and her boyfriend, Dave, is Snoop's manager...or something like that.

Havin' some good times on the dance floor! My booty was a little sore on Sunday!

What a STUNNING bride!

Me and my SL!
Newlyweds!

This one will be going in a frame!

This one too!
Yeah, i TOTALLY hated being short in high school, but, alas, i have accepted it!

Look, it's a lily headdress!
Tuckered out from wedding weekend fun!!!Ready to eat some brunch and head to the airport!

What a FABULOUS, FABULOUS weekend!!!!!!!!!!
